At Equity American School we feel that music is a very important part of education. Studies show that students who learn music do better academically. Thus, all students are required to learn to play an instrument. Kindergartners take rhythm band and first, second and third graders learn to play either violin or recorder. By fourth grade all students are learning a formal orchestra instrument. We have a sixty piece orchestra that practices every school day. The orchestra performs often including two formal programs given annually at the National Theater.
